Leadership in Johnston, IA began looking for an accessible, user-focused approach to displaying their Code of Ordinances, with a particular focus on making the Zoning and Subdivision Regulations easy to view, download, and print. Staff had an additional item they wanted to address: their current management system for development applications was outdated and under-utilized.
After partnering with enCodePlus to launch a new Code of Ordinances portal, city staff worked closely with the ECP team to customize and launch a development application intake tool, AppTrak+. AppTrak+ facilitates the application intake, processing, and approval process. Automated emails delivered through the system allow staff to keep in contact with applicants and inform them of missing fees, future public meetings, and other vital information.
