When the Town of Los Gatos chose enCodePlus to host their 2040 General Plan in 2022, they were interested in ways to make the plan more attractive and accessible to the public. To this end, they utilized the Quick Tables, Custom Indexing, and Site Navigator features. The Quick Tables feature pulls together all of the tables and figures from the plan into a centralized location with easy-to-navigate tabs. Custom Indexing compiles goals and policies into exportable, topic-focused pages. For Los Gatos, these topics of interest include Sustainability, Environmental Justice, and Healthy Communities.
The site was equipped with a user-focused landing page known as a Site Navigator. This landing page includes a welcome message introducing the plan as well as links to tables, figures, the plan’s guiding principles, and each plan chapter, providing intuitive navigation so users can find exactly the information they need. By implementing these innovative features, enCodePlus helps to transform the 2040 General Plan into an engaging resource to display the community’s vision and aspirations.
