Transforming Las Vegas: enCodePlus Enhances Unified Development Code

In 2017, the staff of Las Vegas, Nevada was searching for an online system to host their Unified Development Code. They were specifically looking for a company that would showcase the form-based portion of their regulations, which contains highly stylized section layouts and complex graphics and tables. Even in the company’s early days, enCodePlus set itself apart from the competition with its ability to support graphics intensive documents.

enCodePlus also provided hyperlinked cross-references and hover-over definitions that created an interactive experience for users, helping them navigate and understand the code. In addition, Development Calculators for Parking, Landscaping, Buffer, Sign, and Site Capacity Requirements were built. These tools provided a way for users to input data from their development projects and get results specifically calculated based on that data.

Since then, both enCodePlus and city staff have worked to keep the portal up to date. City staff codifies and publishes amendments, and enCodePlus staff ensures the software gets all the latest enhancements. In 2024, their portal was rebranded to reflect updated government website colors and design.

“Annual updates ensure your software is always the latest and greatest.”
