Zoning Ordinance Update with enCodePlus

The city of Gillette, Wyoming, known as the “energy capital of the nation”, is a town that takes pride in its Wild West heritage. They began working with enCodePlus in 2019, when they needed to update their Zoning Ordinance. enCodePlus provided a solution by creating a dedicated rewrite site in which staff was able to make edits using track changes, easily share edited information with others, and publish drafts for public review.

During the rewrite process, citizens of Gillette have access through enCodePlus to the earlier version of the Zoning Ordinance, which continues to be amended by city staff today. In addition, they are able to reference five related documents:

  • City Code
  • Condominium Regulations
  • Subdivision Regulations
  • Standard Construction Specifications
  • Design Standards and CAD Standards
“ enCodePlus provides a variety of tools to help the process  of drafting new and updated codes run smoothly. Draft, review, present to stakeholders, and publish for the world to see - all in the same system.”
